Shimla, 25 October (IANS) Himachal Pradesh government is set to set up 100 sanitation cafes in the state with an estimated cost of Rs 10 crore by 2023. Use of single use plastic will be completely prohibited in all cafes.

Rural development and Panchayati Raj Minister Virendra Kanwar gave this information on Sunday.

He said that the government has targeted to set up 10 such cafes at important tourist destinations.

Kanwar said that emphasis is being laid on hygiene, women empowerment and promotion of regional cuisines in the hill state.

The menu of Swachhta Cafe will be traditional, healthy and tasty with the aim of preserving the traditional heritage of the state.

The minister said that the aim is to make the village plastic free.
