October 7. Five army workers, consisting of a junior commissioned officer (JCO), were martyred in action throughout a counter-terrorist operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri sector in the Pir Panjal ranges.

An encounter broke out in between security forces and terrorists throughout an anti-insurgency operation in Poonch district. The operation was launched in a town near to DKG in Surankote in the early hours following intelligence inputs about the existence of terrorists there.

“Killed terrorist has been recognized as Imtiyaz Ahmad Dar connected with proscribed terror outfit LeT (TRF). He was associated with a current civilian killing at Shahgund Bandipora,” a tweet by J&K Authorities estimating IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said.
