Anil Deshmukh resigns as Maharashtra Home Minister hours after CBI probe purchase, Dilip Walse Patil replaces him

Mumbai authorities commissioner Param Bir Singh. 

Singh, inside the plea recorded on March 25, sought a CBI probe against Deshmukh whom, he advertised, had expected cops, including suspended cop Sachin Waze, to extort Rs 100 crore from pubs and restaurants. Deshmukh has denied any wrongdoing.

a workbench of Chief Justice Dipankar Datta and Justice G S Kulkarni on Monday stated this is an “extraordinary” and “unprecedented” instance that warranted a completely independent query. In its 52-page judgement, the bench stated Singh’s allegations against Deshmukh had put at stake the citizen’s faith into the condition police.

The court said “such allegations, created by an offering officer, resistant to the state house minister cannot be left unattended, and were required to be probed into, if prima-facie, they made an instance of a cognisable offence”.

The court stated a probe by an independent agency had been needed in today’s situation, to “instill general public confidence and protect might Rights associated with people”. 

A six-time person in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Patil happens to be offering as minister of excise and work division within the Uddhav Thackeray cabinet. However, their profile has already been assigned to Rural developing Minister Hassan Mushrif while Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar will appear after the Excise department.

Formerly, Patil headed the Ministry of Finance and preparing, Energy Ministry, Higher and Specialized Education Ministry, and health knowledge Ministry, all as a Cabinet Minister from 1999 to 2009. He’s known to be an in depth associate of party president Sharad Pawar. Patil had begun his governmental job as a PA to Pawar.
