Anil Deshmukh resigns as Maharashtra Residence Minister hours after CBI probe purchase, Dilip Walse Patil replaces him
Nationwide Congress Party (NCP) frontrunner Dilip Walse Patil on Monday replaced Anil Deshmukh as new home minister of Maharashtra. Deshmukh resigned on Monday from their post, hours following the Bombay High legal purchased a CBI probe into corruption fees leveled against him by former
Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh.
Singh, inside the plea recorded on March 25, wanted a CBI probe against Deshmukh whom, he reported, had asked cops, including suspended cop Sachin Waze, to extort Rs 100 crore from bars and restaurants. Deshmukh has denied any wrongdoing.
a bench of Chief Justice Dipankar Datta and Justice G S Kulkarni on Monday said this was an “extraordinary” and “unprecedented” situation that warranted an independent query. With its 52-page judgement, the bench stated Singh’s allegations against Deshmukh had put at stake the resident’s belief into the condition police.
The court said “these types of allegations, created by an offering police, up against the state residence minister cannot be left unattended, and were expected to be probed into, if prima-facie, they made a case of a cognisable offense”.
The court stated a probe by an unbiased agency was required in the present situation, to “instill general public confidence and safeguard the Fundamental Rights associated with citizens”.
A six-time person in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Patil happens to be offering as minister of excise and work department inside Uddhav Thackeray pantry. However, his profile has already been assigned to Rural Development Minister Hassan Mushrif while Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar will appear after the Excise division.
Previously, Patil headed the Ministry of Finance and Planning, Energy Ministry, Higher and Specialized knowledge Ministry, and Medical knowledge Ministry, all as a Cabinet Minister from 1999 to 2009. He’s known to be a close connect of celebration president Sharad Pawar. Patil had begun their governmental profession as a PA to Pawar.
