Anil Deshmukh resigns as Maharashtra Residence Minister hours after CBI probe purchase, Dilip Walse Patil replaces him

Singh, in the plea recorded on March 25, needed a CBI probe against Deshmukh which, he claimed, had asked police, including suspended cop Sachin Waze, to extort Rs 100 crore from bars and restaurants. Deshmukh has actually denied any wrongdoing.
a bench of Chief Justice Dipankar Datta and Justice G S Kulkarni on Monday said it was an “extraordinary” and “unprecedented” instance that warranted an independent query. In its 52-page judgement, the bench stated Singh’s allegations against Deshmukh had put at stake the citizen’s faith into the state authorities.
The courtroom said “such allegations, made by an offering officer, against the condition home minister could not be kept unattended, and were required to be probed into, if prima facie, they made an incident of a cognisable offence”.
The courtroom said a probe by an unbiased agency had been essential in our case, to “instill general public confidence and protect the Fundamental Rights associated with citizens”.
A six-time person in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Patil is currently offering as minister of excise and work division into the Uddhav Thackeray closet. But his profile has now already been assigned to Rural Development Minister Hassan Mushrif while Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar can look after the Excise division.
Previously, Patil headed the Ministry of Finance and Planning, Energy Ministry, Higher and Specialized knowledge Ministry, and healthcare knowledge Ministry, all as a Cabinet Minister from 1999 to 2009. He is regarded as a close connect of celebration president Sharad Pawar. Patil had started his governmental career as a PA to Pawar.
