Anil Deshmukh resigns as Maharashtra Home Minister hours after CBI probe order, Dilip Walse Patil replaces him

Singh, in the plea filed on March 25, wanted a CBI probe against Deshmukh which, he stated, had expected police, including suspended cop Sachin Waze, to extort Rs 100 crore from bars and restaurants. Deshmukh has rejected any wrongdoing.
a bench of Chief Justice Dipankar Datta and Justice G S Kulkarni on Monday said this was an “extraordinary” and “unprecedented” situation that warranted an unbiased inquiry. In its 52-page judgement, the bench said Singh’s allegations against Deshmukh had put on the line the citizen’s belief when you look at the condition police.
The courtroom said “these types of allegations, produced by a providing police, from the condition house minister could not be remaining unattended, and had been required to be probed into, if prima-facie, they made a case of a cognisable offence”.
The courtroom said a probe by a completely independent agency had been essential in the present case, to “instill community confidence and protect the Fundamental Rights regarding the people”.
A six-time member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Patil happens to be serving as minister of excise and labor department into the Uddhav Thackeray cupboard. But his profile has been assigned to Rural developing Minister Hassan Mushrif while Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar will appear following the Excise division.
Formerly, Patil headed the Ministry of Finance and thinking, Energy Ministry, Higher and Specialized knowledge Ministry, and Medical Education Ministry, all as a Cabinet Minister from 1999 to 2009. He could be considered to be a close associate of celebration president Sharad Pawar. Patil had started his governmental career as a PA to Pawar.
