CAB puts all local competitions in Bengal on hold till January 15 due to COVID surge: Following the rise of COVID-19 cases in West Bengal, the Cricket Association of Bengal (TAXI) on Tuesday postponed all types of local cricket till January 15.

The afflicted events consist of initially department, second division, age competitions, ladies’s cricket and all types of cricket in the districts.

“The health and wellness of the cricketers is the top concern and the choices have been taken seeing the present spike in pandemic and the resultant widespread situation,” taxi secretary Snehasish Ganguly stated in a statement a conference of the office-bearers.

“The taxi is also taking all actions to begin vaccination of cricketers in between the age group of 15 and 18 based on state government standards and procedures.”

The meeting was called after Bengal’s Ranji preparation was struck by the outbreak of COVID-19 in the camp. 7 members, including assistant coach Sourasish Lahiri of the Bengal Ranji Group evaluated COVID favorable on Sunday.

On Tuesday, CAB president Avishek Dalmiya too checked positive and was confessed to a city medical facility.
