Centre decides to resume biometric attendance for employees of all levels from November 8

Centre chooses to resume biometric participation for staff members of all levels from November 8

NEW DELHI: The Union federal government has chosen to resume biometric presence for workers of all levels from November 8, the Worker Ministry said on Monday.
It shall be the responsibility of heads of department to ensure that sanitisers are mandatorily put next to biometric makers and all staff members sanitize their hands prior to and after marking the attendance, it stated.
The staff members were previously excused from biometric participation due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
“Physical distancing of 6 feet should be kept by all workers while marking their participation. If needed, additional biometric attendance machines might be installed to prevent overcrowding,” the Personnel Ministry said in an order to all central government ministries and departments.
All staff members will be needed to wear masks or face covers at all times, including while waiting to mark their presence, it said.
“Meetings, as far as possible, shall continue to be conducted on video conferencing and personal conferences with visitors, unless essential in public interest, are to be prevented,” the order mentioned.
All officers and staff shall strictly follow Covid-appropriate behaviour at all times in workplaces, the Personnel Ministry stated.
