Every woman needs to have Disha app, insists Jagan

VIJAYAWADA: In a quote to suppress criminal activity against women, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy required correct application of ‘Disha’ and felt the need to ensure that every woman downloads the app on her cellphone as an effective preventive procedure.

Reddy was chairing a top-level meeting with home minister M. Sucharita and leading authorities on execution of ‘Disha’, drugs and upkeep of law and order, at his camp workplace on Monday.

He exhorted all collectors and SPs to opt for extensive promotion about the app and urge ladies to also take help from ward/village volunteers and ladies police.

With regard to the status of Disha Expense, Reddy stated that it would be improper to delay it any further as it was passed in the state legislature, he advised authorities to start steps to see that the expense ends up being an Act soon.

Authorities stated that till date Disha app has signed up 74,13,562 downloads and it has actually helped 5,238 females in trouble. They stated that 684 FIRs were signed up through the app this year and all believed places of crime were mapped and all Disha police headquarters have gotten ISO accreditation.

With regard to ‘one-stop centre’, the Chief Minister directed officials to offer immediate justice to the victims by making sure payment of relief within a month. Seeking a special action strategy to manage cybercrime, he said that there was a requirement to rope in effective officers and advocates to operate in the cybercrime wing.

Reddy required instant and strict actions to guarantee that all colleges and universities would be devoid of the drug hazard. He bought stern action versus all drug peddlers.
