J&K: Suspected terrorists eliminate 2 civilians in Srinagar; ninth in less than a month

At least 2 civilians were eliminated in a shooting event reported at Old Srinagar City’s Eid Gah area on Saturday. Apparently, two non-locals have lost their lives at the hands of thought militants. According to reports, the departed, Arbind Kumar Sah, hailed from Bihar, and Sagir Ahmad hailed from Uttar Pradesh and were local vendors in Old Srinagar City. The army has begun a search operation for the presumed militants.

The thought terrorists fired on 2 local vendors, the Kashmir Zone Police stated. “Non-Local labourer Shri Sagir Ahmad of Saharanpur, UP who was seriously injured in a terror attack in Pulwama, also yielded to his injuries. Browse operations are in development. Further information will follow”, the police tweeted.

This is the fourth civilian to have lost his life at the hands of terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir, in over less than a month.

Kumar’s killing begins a day when police declared to have actually assassinated three militants in a period of 24 hr who were included in last week’s killings of members of minority neighborhoods in Srinagar.

National Conference leader Omar Abdullah, and PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti condemned the killing. Abdullah tweeted, “Strongly condemn the killing of street supplier Arvind Kumar in a terror attack in Srinagar today. This is yet another case of a civilian being targeted like this. All Arvind Kumar did was concerned Srinagar looking for earning chances & & it’s guilty that he was killed”.

“An innocent civilian on his method home to his other half & & kids, a non local street supplier eking out a living or troops in Poonch.None of these individuals should have to die. One wonders what will it take for GOI to understand that its policies have been a huge failure in J&K & at what expense?”, Mehbooba tweeted.

Previously, 2 government school teachers, including a female, were shot dead by terrorists in the Eidgah area of Srinagar on Thursday. Terrorists fired from close quarters at two instructors in a government higher secondary school here. Both the instructors died on the area.

According to authorities, at about 11:15 am, terrorists shot dead two school teachers. The area has been cordoned off and a hunt has been launched to nail the assaulters.

“Two instructors killed in a terrorist attack at a government school in the Iddgah Sangam location of Srinagar,” the Jammu and Kashmir Authorities stated in a declaration.

Reports say that the slain teachers are the principal of the school, Supinder Kaur and a Kashmiri Pandit teacher, Deepak Chand. Today’s killings come two days after the terrorists shot a regional Pandit, ML Bindroo, a non-local supplier and a cab driver in Kashmir.
