Kamala Harris Attacked For Slamming Columbus Day


Kamala Harris is being slammed as”anti-American’ after she made remarks dealing with the “outrageous past” of the country that was invaded by European settlers over 500 years back.

Throughout remarks at the National Congress of American Indians 78th Annual Convention on Tuesday in Portland to deal with the “outrageous past” of European explorers, saying they “ushered in a wave of devastation” for Native Americans when they arrived.

“Because 1934, every October, the United States has recognized the trip of the European explorers who initially landed on the coasts of the Americas,” Harris informed the delegates. “However that is not the entire story. That has never ever been the whole story. Those explorers introduced a wave of devastation for Tribal countries– committing violence, taking land, and spreading out disease.”

The vice president’s remarks came a day after Columbus Day, which is significantly being replaced or commemorated together with Native Peoples’ Day– an event of America’s Native Americans past and present. On Monday, President Biden recognized the holiday for the very first time ever at the federal level.

Numerous on Twitter labeled Vice President Harris’ degradation of genocide Native Americans as “un-American.” One composed, “Kamala states (white?)
