Maha: Thermal units to produce oxygen to govt hospitals


MUMBAI: Energy minister Nitin Raut on Monday announced Maharashtra’s ‘Mission Oxygen’ campaign under that the state’s thermal energy generators from Mahagenco will quickly produce medical oxygen—through present ozonation plants—and refill 1,454 jumbo cylinders daily to focus on the demand from government hospitals.

A senior Mahagenco authoritative said, “In the first stage, the latest Parli energy section has set up an oxygen plant at Swami Ramanand Tirtha outlying hospital in Ambejogai with a capacity of 288 jumbo cylinders per day and 95.2percent purity. Using The commissioning of the plant on April 27, Covid customers in Parli-Beed and neighbouring areas have already benefited.”
In the second period, medical air supply is going to be accomplished by Khaparkheda power place at a capacity of 42 cubic metre hourly and also by Paras energy section at 50 cubic metre each hour. “Mahagenco has started the process to complete the building of the air plant next one to one . 5 months,” the Mahagenco authoritative said.
“We intend to provide 1,002 jumbo cylinders daily through Koradi energy place, 128 cylinders daily through Paras power place, and Parli energy will create 216 cylinders of air,” the official added.
