Dehradun, 11 October (TNN) Rawat has clarified after Punjab Congress President Sunil Jakhar expressed his unhappiness over the remarks made by in-charge General Secretary Harish Rawat regarding the functioning of the state Congress.

The former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand has clarified that there is no proposal to replace the head of the Punjab Congress and his point has been misunderstood.

Rawat told TNN, there is no proposal to replace the state unit president in Punjab.

He clarified that when asked about the district committees, he replied that the formation of committees is a matter of concern. Asked whether the Punjab leaders were upset over the undue importance being given to former minister Navjot Singh Sidhu, Rawat replied that everyone agreed that Sidhu should be brought on board and only with the party's consent He came to Moga's rally.
