Tamil Nadu raises curbs, permits schools, colleges to resume on February 1, withdraws Sunday lockdown: According to the current order provided by the Tamil Nadu government, all commercial entities, shopping malls, shops, and restaurants won’t be enabled to operate beyond the permitted time.

With coronavirus cases on the decline, the Tamil Nadu government withdrew limitations such as night curfew and Sunday lockdown while allowing schools to resume on February 1 for classes 1 to 12.

Revealing the removal of limitation on week-end worship in spiritual locations, Chief Minister M K Stalin said individuals will be enabled to get in the places of worship from today onwards.

“There will be no constraint. Fans will be enabled to offer praise inside the spiritual locations following the implementation of SoP,” he said.Schools, except nursery and kindergarten, and colleges will resume on February 1 and resume the direct classes.

Following a wave of infections, the government had ordered schools to close while allowing classes for greater secondary trainees till Pongal(mid-January).

Later on, all the greater secondary schools were asked to stay shut till this month-end. Examining the pandemic scenario with health officials and senior bureaucrats on Thursday, Chief Minister M K Stalin announced that there will be no night curfew from January 28.

Even more, there would not be a complete lockdown this Sunday(January 30 ), as it is being withdrawn. Restaurants, movie theater theatres, clubs, theme park, bakeries, lodges, fitness centers, garment and jewellery shops, health spas and beauty parlors are allowed to work with 50 percent occupancy.

The restriction on the number of persons(approximately 100)for marital relationship and (50)for funeral services will nevertheless continue.

All institution of higher learnings, aside from those that are temporarily functioning as COVID Care Centres, would resume classes on February 1, strictly adhering to the federal government standards on COVID safety.

About 28,515 Coronavirus positive cases were contributed to the windows registry today taking the tally to 32,52,751 till date, while recoveries stood at 28,620. The constraint on social, cultural and political gathering will continue.
