According to researchers, Foster’s rise reflects a broader trend where right-wing accounts utilize fake women combined with patriotic imagery to attract viewers and monetize engagement. Sam Gregory, executive director of Witness, explained that the advancements in AI technology allow for the creation of consistent characters that can appear alongside real public figures, making them seem real. These manipulative images can tap into political sentiments to maximize visibility, with creators directing followers to paid platforms for more explicit content.
The Army has stated that no records exist for Foster. Despite this, she has amassed over 100,000 comments on her posts, with reactions ranging from admiration for her looks to accusations of being an AI fabrication. While some accounts have challenged the authenticity of her images, many users have engaged positively with her content.
Foster’s online profiles linked to platforms like OnlyFans, which was removed for violating rules requiring all creators to be verified human adults. She later redirected viewers to an account on Fanvue, which permits AI models, suggesting a strategy to convert free followers into paying subscribers for exclusive content.
Experts warn that the easy creation of such accounts, paired with their potential for distributing political messaging, poses significant risks. Joan Donovan, an assistant professor at Boston University, highlighted that these tactics could lead to widespread misinformation campaigns, transforming the way political messaging is disseminated online.
