Editorial Standards & Corrections Policy

## Our standards Times News Now follows a clear, written set of editorial standards. We expect every staff member, contributor, and freelancer to follow them. ### 1. Accuracy We verify every fact, name, number, date, and quotation against the original source before publishing. Where a fact cannot be independently verified, we attribute it to the publisher that first reported it ("according to Reuters", "the Press Trust of India reported", etc.). ### 2. Originality Every article on Times News Now is written by our team in our own words. We do not copy or republish content from other publishers verbatim. Where we summarise or build on reporting by another outlet, we credit them by name in the body of the article and in a clearly labelled "News Source" line at the end. ### 3. Attribution When we use a wire story, press release, official statement, or third-party photograph, we credit the original source. Hero images carry an `image credit` line where applicable. ### 4. Independence Our newsroom is independent of advertising and commercial functions. No advertiser, sponsor, or business partner has any say over editorial coverage. Sponsored content, when it appears, is clearly labelled "Sponsored" or "Promoted". ### 5. Fairness and balance Where a story involves competing claims, we present the main points of view. We seek comment from people and organisations who are the subject of significant criticism before publishing. ### 6. AI-assisted reporting We use AI tools to help draft, summarise, and translate articles between English and Hindi. **A human editor reviews every AI-assisted article before publication.** The human editor is responsible for factual accuracy, tone, and final approval. ### 7. Privacy and minors We handle personal data in line with our [Privacy Policy](/page/privacy). We do not identify minors involved in crimes or investigations except where required by a court order or as per established law. ## Corrections policy We correct mistakes openly and promptly. - **How to report a mistake:** email **info@timesnewsnow.com** with subject "Correction:" and the article URL. - **Acknowledgement:** we will acknowledge your report within 1 business day. - **Action:** if your report is valid, we will correct the article and add a "Correction" note at the bottom describing what was changed and when. Significant corrections are noted at the top of the article. - **Timing:** we aim to publish corrections within 48 hours of confirming the error. - **Retractions:** in rare cases where a story is found to be fundamentally wrong, we will retract it, replace the page with a retraction notice, and explain why. ## Complaints If you believe a story falls short of these standards and a correction is not enough, write to **info@timesnewsnow.com** with subject "Complaint:".
